Yesterday we made our very own sockasaurus rex! We chose from lots of different materials and textiles to create our own designs. We used pipe cleaners, felt, pom poms and googly eyes.
Here are some of our designs, we hope you like them as much as we do!
Year 1 had another lovely visit from Martyn today. We learnt all about our food and where it goes on the eat well plate!
In today’s literacy lesson we looked at how the dinosaurs became extinct. We looked at the asteroid hitting the Earth, the Earth getting very cold and we even dug up some fossils!
This week we have started a new class text, it is all about how the dinosaurs became extinct!
Can you practice the new text map at home and show your mums and dads everything you know about how the dinosaurs died out?
Last week we started our experiments for our very own sockasaurus rex! We did some experiments to see what would stick to our socks. We tried using blue tac, sellotape, PVA glue and pritt sticks to see what would stick the best!
Today we looked at the properties of 3d shapes! We made some cubes and cuboids out of clixi.
This gallery contains 4 photos.
It was so lovely to see lots of the parents yesterday at our reading workshop! We hope that you all found it very helpful and can’t wait to hear all about the books you are reading at home!
Last week Martyn came to see us, he helped us in the garden. We planted lots of broad beans and even some garlic! We can’t wait to try them once they’ve grown!
Hello and welcome to our year one blog, where we will be keeping you up to date about what we do in school!
Please leave a comment telling us who and where you are!
